Dance For Me, Boytoys!

I spent a good amount of my gaming time fishing with Glaine in the ferry from Selbina to Mhaura. I've been trying to skill up on Noble Ladies now that I've capped out on Shall Shells and Bluetail. We finally got bored enough that I teleported him back to Bastok and out to Xarcabard for his outpost supply runs.

Final Fantasy XI - Halifirien's swimwear.
I am a sexy beast.

The big excitement was the arrival of the Summer Breeze Festival's swimwear event. In order to receive the tropical outfits, you have to pair up with someone else. The moogle who starts the game gives each player the compass direction their partners. I teamed up with Masatarutaru, who was also standing there without a partner. The moogle would tell me to direct Masa north, so he'd go charging off to find his checkpoint. The moogle would give me frequent updates so I could tell him to move south if he overshot the mark. Then it was Masa's turn to direct me.

When we'd found our respective checkpoints, we received dolls. We'd swap dolls and then give them to the moogle in exchange for a swimwear item. I got the trunks and body piece. Running around the tropical splendor of Purgonorgo Island in these outfits will be cool as hell.

Better yet, the male characters in the game look good in them. Hume and Elvaan males have great abs. It's like virtual eye candy.

I finished out the evening trying to catch Black Sole on the north shore of Quifum Island. It's a nicer spot than the pond because there are no parties fighting monsters at my back. I only managed to catch one sole, which kinda sucked. I'd have a decent shot at catching squid if I had my Lu Shang Rod.

Dagry's Hiatus

One of my favorite people in the game, Dagry, announced Tuesday that he's going on a three-month hiatus to move back to Chicago for family stuff. He's not sure if he'll be coming back to the game, so he wanted to spend his last few days helping his friends. I asked if he could escort me to the top of Castle Oztroja to get the Yagudo Crest for my Limit Break 3; he'd promised to do it a month ago, but I kept putting it off. We met a party halfway up who also needed it and joined them.

I made it to the spot where you find the crest and waited for the Yagudo High Priest to move away so I could get it. The bastard spotted me and started casting Slow on me. Since my cover was blown, I ran forward, grabbed the crest, and then started dashing down the ramp so I could die within Tractor range of the party. They tractored me back to camp and raised me.

After that was over, we headed for Davoi and the Orc Crest. It was a complete cakewalk. Veresko, Skye and Cira joined us for the Quadav Crest run in Bedeaux. Someone caught aggro and the Quadav started attacking. It turned into a party wipeout, but I had Reraise up and was able to recover and scramble to safety. I got back to camp, raised everyone, and Cira and I got the crest we needed. I finished the quest and can now level to 65.

Final Fantasy XI - Dagry and Halifirien.
Dagry and I wait for the others in Bedeaux.
Today I ended up in Newton Movalpolos with Dagry, Uliwela and Xeones. Uli and Xeo needed a stone for some ENM battle, and we had to fight Bugbears for them. We were camped at the zoneline, and we had fun with multiple goblins and bugbears because they'd link. Uliwela kept them slept so we would only be fighting one at a time. Uli died at one point, and then Dagry later died trying to zone some goblins out of the way so Xeones could pull the mobs we needed. They eventually got their stones.

My final adventure with Dagry was a trip to Zvahl Castle Bailey to get a coffer key for Red Oxide. We killed plenty of demons until it dropped. I manged to get an Ice Spirit Pact while we were there.

Dagry had better get his ass back to the game as soon as he can. I need someone around to try to punt me and constantly tell me to stop paying with my rod.
