Flashdance

We
Final Fantasy XI - Dancer
Gigas invade West Sarutabaruta [S].
said we were going to do a level a day until we hit 37 on Dancer, but it's starting to get a little tedious. We're scaling it back even more and will just do an Empress Band charge each day until we get there. We dinged 33 on Island Rarabs in Bibiki Bay, but didn't feel like staying around much longer than that.

It's not like we have to rush, because we've achieved the major goal of boosting our survival rate in Campaign battles. I took a break to do a little fishing before joining Neyla in the past to do some fights, and it was sweet. I miss popping off Asuran Fists every few seconds for heavy damage, but it's offset by how I don't miss dying every few fights because nobody will throw a Cure my way.

I finished off a merit point and Neyla almost dinged 62 before we logged out. We'll get halfway to 34 tomorrow and probably do more Campaigns. I applied for an evaluation and earned my Sterling Star. Two more promotions and I can do Streetsweeper III.

Frustration

Neyla
Final Fantasy XI - Dancer
Neyla must've pissed it off.
and I moved our Dancer duo to Bibiki Bay today. We had a late start since we were finishing off the fourth season DVDs of The Wire, and it wasn't long after we started fighting the bunnies that we realized we weren't alone in the zone. There was a 38 DNC/BST charming bunnies and using them to kill birds and dhalmels, and there was also a party Neyla ID'd as gilsellers.

We couldn't really compete with that, so we left and decided to look for another spot. The only place we could think of was Middle Delkfutt's Tower. We outposted there, quickly learning that Spectral Jig isn't the greatest method for long-term sneaking around because it wears off too quickly.

The gigas were all Decent with a sprinking of Even Match. Naturally, after all that running around, Bibiki Bay had emptied out and we were able to return there for awhile. We were too frustrated to hit our target.

A Bridge Too Far

Another
Final Fantasy XI - Dancer
The sheep was lonely, we were drunk...
day, another round of Dancer leveling. We were back on the bridge in Lufaise Meadows, although now some of the bees were coming out as Even Match. We fought the sheep a few times, although it eventually popped as Incredibly Tough and we had to leave it alone. It's a shame, because it wasn't bad prey. The only truly annoying thing it could do was sleep us, which meant standing around with our thumbs up our asses until it managed to work through our shadows and hit us. Their accuracy isn't the greatest, so that could take time.

Still, we kept with it until we reached 32. We needed a new camp. I changed over to White Mage in the safehold so I could teleport us out and escort Neyla to Attowha Chasm to check the worms. They're all Toughs, but are clustered together and link. It's just not viable.

Bibiki Bay, on the other hand, will do nicely. The rabbits and efts were all Tough when Neyla checked them. We can get to 37 there with few problems because the birds and dhalmels become an option when we've played out the other prey.

Final Fantasy XI - Campaign
I'm really going to enjoy /DNC.
wanted to do some Campaign battles, so I figured it was a good time to test out MNK/DNC. Oh, man... it was great. As long as I wasn't going after one of the NMs that can hit for a few thousand in damage, I had no problems keeping myself alive and punching. I look forward to getting Drain Samba II and that nifty Erase-type move.

As I said, the NMs were nasty and led to my only deaths while we were out there. Even so, I managed to hold out a lot longer against one of the yagudo bastards in Meriphataud Mountains than I thought. I might've survived, but he spammed me with kicks that stunned me and I couldn't keep up.

Shakin' Our Moneymakers

Shmedly
Final Fantasy XI - Dancer
More bee slaughter on the bridge.
and Crookedmidget were unable to make the ENM this week, but the four of us took down Pasuk with few problems. We got a Woodsman Ring this time, which obviously means more gil than if we'd had to split it six ways. It's a nice compensation, at least.

We'd started early and had nothing better to do, so Neyla suggested burning off an Empress Band charge out in Lufaise Meadows. The two of us switched to Dancer and killed bees, but we didn't feel like quitting when the Dedication wore off. We kept going until we dinged 31.

We're going to do a level a day until we hit 37.
