Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock

Oh,
Final Fantasy XI - Raptor Egg
I'm always adding to my chocobo collection.
I did some stuff today. Farmed my Florid Stone, did multiple Campaign battles, earned my Copper Emblem of Service for my evaluation, even some fishing... but really the day was mostly about collecting egg furniture. I'd already claimed Windurst's Hatchling egg, but I decided I wanted the rest of them.

It's an egg hunt, with moogles dispensing a new letter to you each hour. By forming combos, you get items. For the nation-based eggs, you had to spell out the first five letters of a region controlled by that country.

Players make a lot of gil from these egg events by bazaaring letters and marking them up outrageusly. I saw an "H" in one bazaar for 10k! Luckily most are content to keep it under 2k-3k. I spent a lot more gil than I should have, running between Windurst, Bastok and San d'Oria to find the letters I needed.

The Clockwork Egg is also pretty cool because it keeps accurate time, staying in sync with the in-game clock.

Brawl

My
Final Fantasy XI - Smash Bros.
I've been playing a lot of "Super Smash Bros. Brawl."
gaming life has been overwhelmed by two titles for the past week. The first is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and the other is Army of Two. Neyla has been spending a lot of time at my apartment so we can play them, which means I've spent very little time in Vana'diel.

Sunday wasn't bad, because we had the escort and ENM before helping Shmedly do the yagudo BCNM for the Windurst [S] quests. I really need to buckle down and try to get a party on Dragoon. It's not like I don't have plenty of things to keep myself occupied while I seek. I'll get there eventually, because I really do enjoy going stab-stab-stabbity-stab with my polearm.

The only other productive things I've done (if you can call it that) were getting the Hatchling Egg for my moghouse and repairing enough clothespoles to get Woodworking to 70. The Hatchling Egg is neat because it makes sounds and gives me the creepy feeling I'm in Jurassic Park.

I
Final Fantasy XI - Campaign
Odzmanouk is a new and startling addition to Campaign.
was back and having some quality time today, though. This was my first solid attempt at doing Campaigns since the big update, and it's definitely changed. I like hearing the troop dispatches while I'm waiting around in Windurst, but it seems to take the waves of enemies longer to reach camp. There were a few battles where the music started but the mobs took so long to appear that I gave up in disgust and followed Neyla back to Windurst to try a more productive battlefield. He managed to ding 66 on Paladin while we were at it.

A fun addition I didn't expect was the arrival of a wyrm during the battle in Meriphataud. Odzmanouk fights on our side, at least. We'd be in deep dragon doo-doo if he was working for the Shadow Lord.

I'm closing in on a second merit point, so I may try for a third tomorrow while I finish up the requirements to earn another promotion.
