Downtime

The
Final Fantasy XI - Dragoon

plan for the week was to focus on Campaigns -- I've failed two evaluations in a row and had to renew my medal -- for the first part of the week and then do some leveling in the latter half. That hasn't really happened, since I've mostly been playing Animal Crossing and Fallout 3 while Neyla has been running through Grand Theft Auto 4.

I've been on a bit, but my heart just hasn't been in it.

I tried skilling up my polearm in Vunkerl Inlet yesterday, which I like because the Robber Crabs don't aggro. They hit harder than their Boyahda Tree friends, but I wasn't in any danger of dying until I caught blood aggro from a nearby Haunt. It was only Decent, but it was hitting me pretty hard. I survived, but only because I got help from a wandering Pixie and because I called my NPC Gauldeval to patch me up.

I also logged on a bit today for more Campaign ops and did a few Campaign battles, but I got bored with it and logged out again for more post-nuclear shenanigans in the Washington, D.C., wastelands.

Maybe tomorrow.

Recovery Mode

After

a lengthy visit to my parents' house for Christmas and all the running around, I wasn't sure what time I'd get home today for the escort and avatar runs. I'd popped on earlier this morning to flag them and do a few Campaign ops. Neyla was working on polearm skillups when I finally got there, so that gave me time to unpack a few things before we started.

It was your basic Sunday stuff with few hassles. The mood was much lighter than last weekend, to be sure.

I'd been camping the auction house for a week or so, trying to get a Colossal Lance. I managed to snag one this morning, which I mentioned as we were riding back to San d'Oria to claim our scrolls.

"I finally got my hands on a Colossal Lance this morning," I said.

After a pause, Neyla said "Must... not... make... joke..."

"Perv," I shot back.

We killed the avatars and I logged out as soon as I hit Windurst. I was too tired to run around getting my avatar gil.
