Magic Sludge

Two mages were trying to kill the Magic Sludge in Toraimarai Canal when Neyla and I took Wulfgar for his Black Mage hat. They weren't having much luck with it and warped out when it looked like they were going to die. We didn't get a chance to offer aid, but we had to kill it and then pop it again so Wulfgar could get credit.

that out of the way, Wulfgar disbanded and we joined up with Dalamar for more Red Mage AF quests. First up was Miser Murphy, and I switched over to BST/NIN for that because I hate fighting ghosts as Monk. He can be a real prick, so I'd much rather have him go after a jug pet than me if something goes wrong.

Key farming in Garlaige Citadel was kinda painless, and we even bumped into Old Two-Wings on our way to the doll fight. A party at the first Banishing Gate helped the three of us pass through. We returned later with Tiael to help us get through the other gates when Dalamar needed to pop the coffer.

In other news, I did more chocobo breeding with the last red male card I had in the moghouse. Hopefully I'll get a red male for a complete breeding pair of red birds, but I'm not getting my hopes up. My last attempt at a green pair fizzled out and I sent that bird to the glue factory.

I'll be going to my parents' house tomorrow for a week of vacation and Thanksgiving goodness, so gaming will be extremely light until I get back.

Dalamar

The undead are stubborn.

has a knack for leveling jobs. It seems like that's all he ever does. He's been leveling Red Mage, and once he learned Refresh it became a rocket sled of partying. He finally hit Artifact Armor levels, so that's what we helped him with today.

We started out farming a coffer key in Eldieme Necropolis, which took forever because the undead were being very stubborn. I got a lot of xp for my buffer, so I can't complain too much, but I would've popped my Empress Band if I'd known it would take that long.

"Finally got my Toramorai Canal map," Dalamar told us as we were leaving. "Now I can get lost and see where I'm lost at."

Castle Oztroja was much faster. We barely had to clear out the top floor before we got the key, and the coffer was behind the door leading to the Yagudo High Priest. We probably got the key so fast because Neyla called his NPC, which guarantees the game conspires against you to waste the effort. We finished up by fighting Dark Spark.

We'll do more gear stuff tomorrow. He has a few cutscenes to get, I think.

We were going to help Wulfgar with his Black Mage AF fight in Toraimorai Canal, but he fell asleep before we were ready. I sent him a message that we'd help him later.
