Good Deeds

Final Fantasy XI - Feriz attains Rank 5.
Neyla, Feriz and Halifirien take a break in Davoi.
It was a busy weekend. After talking about doing it for a month, Neyla and I finally took Feriz on his tower run for Rank 4 Friday. Then we took him on the Magicite missions for Rank 5 and his very own airship pass. It's strange being high enough in level to be able to do stuff like that; my own Rank 5 mission involved a group of higher-level players running through Castle Oztroja and slaughtering everything that moved. Quieren got me through Davoi and Beadeaux at the time.

We also did more swimwear quests. I teamed up with Neyla and Feriz so they could get their respective gear, and then teamed up with Feriz again to get the +1 versions.

The nation of Bastok (scornfully known as "Lastok") got busy and actually came in first in the Conquest tally, taking over multiple regions... including Ronfaure. Feriz is from Bastok, so I took him out to Beaucedine Glacier and Xarcabard for the outpost teleports and the Vahzl gate crystal.

I had planned to level my White Mage job today, but my cook friend put in another order for ten stacks of Shall Shells. While Quieren and Neyla were killing hundreds of buffalo to get a Notorious Monster to pop for Cure Clogs, I was fishing shells in Buburimu. The cook asked for another ten stacks and paid me in advance for them as well; that's 360k in my pocket to spend on moat carp over the next few days.

I'll be cleaning out the auction houses when I can, but I'll be damned if I'm paying 6k a stack in Sandy. That's just highway robbery. They're normally 4k, although I'll pay 5k when I have to. But 6k? Nah. I ended up buying twenty stacks in Windy and left it at that.

Quieren eventually joined me in Buburimu with a Lv. 75 RDM friend of his named Tomasello. Both of them were after Shall Shells, although Tom was late getting there because he went to solo Leviathan Prime first. I got cracked up because as soon as Tom joined our party he recognized my name from my QCDN sig and said "Holy shit, it's the '4500 moat carp and this bitch is mine' guy! I'm honored."

"It wears off fast," I told him.
