Goblin Bombs

I set a record for Dragoon party invites by putting up my flag and getting a /tell ten seconds later asking me to come to Qufim Island. I was on the airship dock in Port Windurst, standing inside the passenger cabin and waiting for it to take off, when Neyla sent up the flare for me to haul ass out to the glacier because Nue was walking around unclaimed. Neyla was the only person in the zone. I rushed back to the moghouse, changed to White Mage, and busted ass to get to the zone. Naturally, we only got a Black Tiger Fang.

teleported to LaTheine and rode a chocobo to Jeuno, where I switched back to Dragoon and joined the party. They were already camped and in progress, accepting with good grace my apologies for being late. Some of us were at the upper end of what's acceptable for the zone; with two parties camped in Pugil Alley, we were getting meager xp for our efforts and decided to move inside to kill goblins.

I very quickly learned about the dangers of goblin bombs and assorted AoE attacks for Dragoons. Oboro was getting hammered pretty hard, and I'd try to rest for a tick here and there to give her back some health when I could.

I left early because Quieren asked me to tag along while he bought an Xbox 360 (I think he needed a cheerleader because he said his wife would kill him), but I got to within 1000xp of 24, which will finally allow me to wear my Empress Hairpin. I'll probably try to get another party on Monday after I do some fishing.

I went out to Beaucedine Glacier after returning from the shopping trip. I killed stuff around Nue's tower until he finally popped, but again only got a Black Tiger Fang. I really really really hate this tiger. I farmed my Florid Stone and logged out for the night when I returned to Windurst.

Neyla To The Rescue

Fresh

from victory over Valkurm Emperor, I went after Leaping Lizzie today. It took a little longer to pop her -- I was midway through my second funguar before she turned up on widescan. I ran to claim her and spotted another taru running toward Lizzie. I fumbled my macro, but the funguar one-shotted her as the other taru was drawing his weapon. It amused me when the other player started whining about never getting the boots, but I had little sympathy because I was the only one killing the lizards in the area. I got my Bounding Boots.

I went seeking on Dragoon after that. I got an invite and joined the group at the entrance to Delkfutt's Tower so we could go through the ritualistic slaughter of crabs. I think I was having more fun playing with the new wyvern emotes -- "Did your pet just do a backflip?" one of the party members asked -- than stabbing things with my polearm, but I got some decent xp.

Neyla wandered out and camped by the outpost until we were finished. He saved me a Sneak Oil by escorting me back to Jeuno.

I've read in some soloing guides that worms in Korroloka Tunnel are supposed to be healthy targets, so I decided to finish up my evening by riding the airship from Jeuno to Bastok.

tunnels were loaded with RMT, but they seemed to be leaving the worms near the Bastok side alone. I called my NPC to help, but I don't think I'll be doing that again. He blows his MP quickly and then he's a drag on my XP. It's easier to just let the wyvern keep me alive. I still have some kinks to work out, since I managed to get myself killed. Naturally, my homepoint was still at the base of Delkfutt's Tower.

Neyla came to my rescue again by riding out to Raise me. I'll save soloing until I can equip Reraise Earrings.

The Rare/EX NM Collection

I was at my parents' house for the weekend and didn't log into the game until Sunday for "Test Your Mite" and the escort. It was noteworthy because Apu forgot to wait for Sneak when he entered Pso'xja and got killed by the hecteyes. To top it off, we got to the ENM arena and he wasn't able to enter because he'd forgotten to turn in his stone. My Monk is now 3k from 59.

planned to fish and catch up on activities Monday, but I came down with some kind of bug I caught from my nephew over the weekend. I'd made it halfway from the moghouse to the outpost NPC in Port Windurst when I logged out to sleep for a few hours. I came back later and ventured out to the dunes to camp the Valkurm Emperor, but I didn't last very long.

I called off work and slept a lot today, but I logged back into the dunes. I popped a funguar jug and started killing every Damselfly in the area. There was another camper, but I lucked out. The emperor popped and I ran to him and got claim. My second time killing him -- the first was many months ago -- and he dropped an Empress Hairpin. I can't wait to use it when Neyla and I start leveling Ninja together.

When that was finished, I joined Quieren in the Temple of Uggalepih to open doors for him so he could find his Summoner AF coffer. We checked everywhere and couldn't find it, so we're pretty sure it was in the room where the Tonberry King pops. We didn't feel like farming a key to get in there. We'll search later.

headed out to South Gustaberg to camp Leaping Lizzie, but that was cut short when Jahar logged on. Neyla asked her if she wanted to try Garuda Prime and Titan Prime. Zaria decided to tag along on Ninja. We did Garuda first -- traveling through that manticore-dense section of Cape Terrigan gives me the willies -- and then teleported back to the Altepa crystal to run to the Titan entrance. I congratulated Jahar on her new avatars and logged out. She still needs to work on fame for Ramuh and Leviathan.

Tomorrow is a big maintenance and update to the game, albeit without chocobo racing. I'll probably camp Lizzie on Thursday if nothing else is going on. I'm eventually turning my eye to Argus for a shot at a Peacock Amulet. We'll see how that goes.
